Hi, I’m Jared Spindel, CFA. I'm the founder of JSTMS, a remote legal practice focused on USPTO and transactional trademark matters. Thank you for visiting our website.

I founded JSTMS because I believe every business should have access to quality legal assistance to protect their brand(s), without it being prohibitively expensive. Today, the remote nature of the work, combined with the vastly improved efficiency enabled by artificial intelligence, means that delivering quality legal services takes far less time than it did just a few years ago. Those savings should be passed on to clients, and quality legal work should be more affordable than it has ever been.

At JSTMS, we strive to provide cost certainty through fixed fees, capped fees, or other alternative arrangements that won't leave you anxious about how much your legal fees will set your business back. Whatever your matter, whether it’s a straightforward USPTO registration or a complex TTAB appeal, we will work to find an arrangement that makes sense for your business.

For a bit of personal background: I grew up in Canada and earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2011. I began my legal career at a major Canadian law firm before moving to California, where I became licensed in 2014. I later relocated to Thailand, where I have been advising clients from around the world on a range of intellectual property and commercial matters. Over time, I chose to focus specifically on U.S. trademark law because it's an area that suits both my expertise and my remote work lifestyle.

When I’m not working, I enjoy playing in friendly padel tournaments, watching sunsets on the beach with my wife and our four adopted dogs, and trying to stave off the cruel march of time at the gym.
